Meridian Hills is the stretch of north Meridian Street where the lots get larger, the driveways get longer, and the homes start looking like architectural case studies. We work on both the restoration side — preserving what the original architects drew — and the modernization side, where the 1950s floor plans need to catch up with the way people live now.
Architectural character
Primarily 1920s–1960s estates: Georgian Revival, Tudor Revival, French Country, and Colonial Revival. Many homes were designed by named Indianapolis architects of the period. Lot sizes are typically 1 to 3 acres, and homes sit well back from Meridian Street.
Local notes
Meridian Hills has its own town government with its own permitting process. Exterior work near Meridian Street sometimes triggers additional review. The homes here reward restoration more than reinvention — original millwork, plaster detailing, and cabinetry are often the best in the city.
